Dori Ann D’Amato grew up in Santa Clara County, CA. Her earliest memories are of her mother reading bedtime stories each night: Nursery Rhymes, Grimm’s Fairy Tales and Robert Louis Stevenson’s A Child’s Garden of Verses. Dori started writing poetry in High school. Her poem ‘Blues in Life’ was published in the Santa Clara Sun, in 1976.
Being a full time Secretary in Silicon Valley didn’t stop her from sharing a love for books with her son. They read together from his birth to his young teens. In the middle of the Harry Potter Series, they switched roles. He read the final two books out loud while she listened.
Currently living in Sacramento County, Dori reads and writes poetry, short stories and romantic suspense. She is working on her first novel. Dori is a Guppy and a Member of Capitol Crimes, the Sacramento Chapter of Sisters in Crime. She is learning a great deal about writing and meeting wonderful people in the process.
