Please join us on Saturday, March 21, 2026 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. PT with Dr. Katherine Ramsland as she delves into the mind of a murderer.

Getting inside killers’ heads involves more than knowing their killing plans. Dr. Katherine Ramsland uses material from her research and her interviews with murderers, detectives, and FBI profilers to show the kinds of things writers should consider as they develop their fiends. Four types of homicide, key developmental features, and several murderous motivators will be presented. This presentation contains crime scene photos.

Dr. Katherine Ramsland teaches forensic psychology and behavioral criminology in the graduate program at DeSales University in Pennsylvania. The author of 73 books, including a crime fiction series, she has undertaken multiple detailed studies of extreme offenders, e.g., Wichita’s “BTK” serial killer, Dennis Rader. Featured as an expert on 20/20, 48 Hours, Banfield and over 300 podcasts and crime documentaries, she has been an executive producer on three multi-episode documentaries and writes a blog on the criminal mind for Psychology Today. She speaks internationally on mass and serial killers to law enforcement groups, attorneys, coroners, and writers. Among her books are Inside the Minds of Mass Murderers, How to Catch a Killer, The Psychology of Death Investigations, Confession of a Serial Killer, and the Anthony-award winning The Serial Killer’s Apprentice.
