    Please join us on Tuesday, October 14th from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. PT as Lisa Parsons talks about her newest book, Ambush.

    Lisa Parsons is a graduate of the University of Washington Paramedic Training Program at Harborview Medical Center and served in the renowned King County Medic One system, where she was among the first women hired. Her novels, Aftermath and Ambush are murder mysteries. They are informed by her professional experience and enriched by her work as a writer, photographer, conservationist, and world traveler. Her writing and photography have been published in numerous national and international outlets. She is the author of the Emergence Series, with the third installment forthcoming in 2026. Parsons resides in Lake Tahoe, California.

    • Developmental editor and award-winning, multi-genre author Eileen Rendahl.
    • Literary agent and former marketing agency CEO Laurie McLean of Fuse Literary Agency.
    • U.S. Army veteran and firearms expert, Karl Henwood; a former sheriff deputy/missing persons investigator and an emergency medicine physicianall discussing how to write realistic scenes.
    • YOUNG WRITERS' TRACK: Bryan Patrick Avery, on how to get started on your mystery; Dale Berry, comic book artist and graphic novelist; Dorothy Rice from creative writing non-profit 916 Ink; and YA author Shea Robinson.

    Lunch and snacks are included, and Face in a Book, an El Dorado Hills independent bookstore, will host an on-site bookstore at City Hall.

    Bring your whole self to our in-person holiday celebration!

    Show up with your best Festive Apparel: holiday sweater, t-shirt, head adornment or all of the aforementioned.

    Book exchange: please bring a new or gently used wrapped book for our traditional book exchange.

    There are three options for lunch. Cost is $35. Registration closes on Monday, December 8th and tickets are non-refundable.

    When you register, you'll choose from three pasta entree items (Sicilian meatball, mushroom, or chicken masala). The dinner will include a salad (Balsamic dressing), Spumoni, and choice of soft drink or iced tea.
